   "When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake."

2. The Details of the Event:

   The subsequent verses describe the events that will unfold on the Day of Judgment:

   "And the earth discharges its burdens. And man says, 'What is [wrong] with it?' - That Day, it will report its news. Because your Lord has commanded it. That Day, the people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds. So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it."

   These verses paint a vivid picture of the earth revealing its hidden deeds, bearing witness to everything that has occurred on its surface. It conveys the idea that every individual's actions, no matter how small, will be brought to light and weighed on the Day of Judgment.

In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful

Abul Ala Maududi:
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Muhsin Khan:
In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful

Pickthall:
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

Dr. Ghali:
In The Name of Allah, The All-Merciful, The Ever-Merciful

Abdul Haleem:
In the name of God, the Lord of Mercy, the Giver of Mercy!

Muhammad Junagarhi:
شروع کرتا ہوں اللہ تعالیٰ کے نام سے جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم واﻻ ہے

Suhel Farooq Khan:
अल्लाह के नाम से जो रहमान रहीम है।

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dengan nama Allah, Yang Maha Pemurah, lagi Maha Mengasihani.

إِذَا زُلۡزِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ زِلۡزَالَهَا

1.       Izaa zul zilatil ardu zil zaalaha

When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake

 

Yusuf Ali:
When the earth is shaken to her (utmost) convulsion,

Abul Ala Maududi:
When the earth will be shaken with a mighty shaking,

Muhsin Khan:
When the earth is shaken with its (final) earthquake.

Pickthall:
When Earth is shaken with her (final) earthquake

Dr. Ghali:
When the earth is quaked with its (final) earthquake,

Abdul Haleem:
When the earth is shaken violently in its [last] quaking,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
جب زمین پوری طرح جھنجھوڑ دی جائے گی

Suhel Farooq Khan:
जब ज़मीन बड़े ज़ोरों के साथ ज़लज़ले में जाएगी

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Apabila bumi digegarkan dengan gegaran yang sedahsyat-dahsyatnya,

وَأَخۡرَجَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ أَثۡقَالَهَا

2.       Wa akh rajatil ardu athqaalaha
And the earth discharges its burdens

 

Yusuf Ali:
And the earth throws up her burdens (from within),

Abul Ala Maududi:
and the earth will throw up all her burdens,

Muhsin Khan:
And when the earth throws out its burdens,

Pickthall:
And Earth yieldeth up her burdens,

Dr. Ghali:
And the earth brings out its heavy (burdens),

Abdul Haleem:
when the earth throws out its burdens,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اور اپنے بوجھ باہر نکال پھینکے گی

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और ज़मीन अपने अन्दर के बोझे (मादनयात मुर्दे वग़ैरह) निकाल डालेगी

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Serta bumi itu mengeluarkan segala isinya,

وَقَالَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا لَهَا

3.       Wa qaalal insaanu ma laha
And man says, “What is [wrong] with it?” –

 

Yusuf Ali:
And man cries (distressed): ‘What is the matter with her?’-

Abul Ala Maududi:
and man will cry out: “What is the matter with her?”

Muhsin Khan:
And man will say: “What is the matter with it?”

Pickthall:
And man saith: What aileth her?

Dr. Ghali:
And man says, “What is it with it?”

Abdul Haleem:
when man cries, ‘What is happening to it?’;

Muhammad Junagarhi:
انسان کہنے لگے گا کہ اسے کیا ہوگیا؟

Suhel Farooq Khan:
और एक इन्सान कहेगा कि उसको क्या हो गया है

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Dan berkatalah manusia (dengan perasaan gerun); “Apa yang sudah terjadi kepada bumi?”

يَوۡمَئِذٖ تُحَدِّثُ أَخۡبَارَهَا

4.       Yawmaa izin tuhaddithu akhbaaraha
That Day, it will report its news

 

Yusuf Ali:
On that Day will she declare her tidings:

Abul Ala Maududi:
On that Day it will relate all her news,

Muhsin Khan:
That Day it will declare its information (about all what happened over it of good or evil).

Pickthall:
That day she will relate her chronicles,

Dr. Ghali:
Upon that Day it will discourse (i.e., proclaim) about its tidings.

Abdul Haleem:
on that Day, it will tell all

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اس دن زمین اپنی سب خبریں بیان کردے گی

Suhel Farooq Khan:
उस रोज़ वह अपने सब हालात बयान कर देगी

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Pada hari itu bumipun menceritakan khabar beritanya:

بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوۡحَىٰ لَهَا

5.       Bi-anna rabbaka awhaa laha
Because your Lord has commanded it.

 

Yusuf Ali:
For that thy Lord will have given her inspiration.

Abul Ala Maududi:
for your Lord will have commanded her (to do so).

Muhsin Khan:
Because your Lord has inspired it.

Pickthall:
Because thy Lord inspireth her.

Dr. Ghali:
That your Lord has revealed to it.

Abdul Haleem:
because your Lord will inspire it [to do so].

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اس لئے کہ تیرے رب نے اسے حکم دیا ہوگا

Suhel Farooq Khan:
क्योंकि तुम्हारे परवरदिगार ने उसको हुक्म दिया होगा

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Bahawa Tuhanmu telah memerintahnya (berlaku demikian).

يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَصۡدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشۡتَاتٗا لِّيُرَوۡاْ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ

6.       Yawma iziny yas durun naasu ash tatal liyuraw a’maalahum
That Day, the people will depart separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds.

 

Yusuf Ali:
On that Day will men proceed in companies sorted out, to be shown the deeds that they (had done).

Abul Ala Maududi:
On that Day people will go forth in varying states so that they be shown their deeds.

Muhsin Khan:
That Day mankind will proceed in scattered groups that they may be shown their deeds.

Pickthall:
That day mankind will issue forth in scattered groups to be shown their deeds.

Dr. Ghali:
Upon that Day mankind will go forward in diverse (groups) to be shown their deeds.

Abdul Haleem:
On that Day, people will come forward in separate groups to be shown their deeds:

Muhammad Junagarhi:
اس روز لوگ مختلف جماعتیں ہو کر (واپس) لوٹیں گے تاکہ انہیں ان کے اعمال دکھا دیئے جائیں

Suhel Farooq Khan:
उस दिन लोग गिरोह गिरोह (अपनी कब्रों से) निकलेंगे ताकि अपने आमाल को देखे

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Pada hari itu manusia akan keluar berselerak (dari kubur masing-masing) – untuk diperlihatkan kepada mereka (balasan) amal-amal mereka.

فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيۡرٗا يَرَهُۥ

7.       Famaiy ya’mal mithqala zarratin khai raiy-yarah
So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it,

 

Yusuf Ali:
Then shall anyone who has done an atom’s weight of good, see it!

Abul Ala Maududi:
So, whoever does an atom’s weight of good shall see it;

Muhsin Khan:
So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it.

Pickthall:
And whoso doeth good an atom’s weight will see it then,

Dr. Ghali:
So whoever does an atom’s weight of charity will see it,

Abdul Haleem:
whoever has done an atom’s-weight of good will see it,

Muhammad Junagarhi:
پس جس نے ذره برابر نیکی کی ہوگی وه اسے دیکھ لے گا

Suhel Farooq Khan:
तो जिस शख्स ने ज़र्रा बराबर नेकी की वह उसे देख लेगा

Abdullah Muhammad Basmeih:
Maka sesiapa berbuat kebajikan seberat zarah, nescaya akan dilihatnya (dalam surat amalnya)!

وَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٖ شَرّٗا يَرَهُۥ

8.       Wa maiy-y’amal mithqala zarratin sharraiy-yarah

And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.
